FOOD PANTRY CITRUS DONATIONS

If you are interested in ordering a box to donate to a local food pantry, there are two options:

1.     If you have a specific pantry in mind, order a box delivered to your home and then drop it off at the pantry of your choice.

2.     The Community Food Pantry at St. Mary’s church in Mohegan Lake will take orders shipped directly to them. Information and directions are attached. Thank you to the Menduni family for researching this option for us!

CONCERT BLACK

For their video assessment, students are required to wear Concert Black. For your video, you will need to be dressed in concert black from the waist up. (Below Ms. Kluga listed all the items required, in hopes that at some point this year we will be performing in person!) Let her know if you have any questions.

Ladies: Solid black dressy shirt. No sleeveless shirts or spaghetti straps. Appropriate necklines, please. Black dressy pants or skirt (below the knee when you sit down) and black dress shoes.

Gentlemen: Solidblack dressy button-down long-sleeved shirt with a collar. Black dress pants. Black dress shoes. Black socks.

JAZZ BAND

There is no rehearsal this Thursday due to Thanksgiving. Make time over this week to practice Critical Mass and Africa using the A-ccompany app. Keep building your skills and building up your confidence!

SPECIAL GUEST

On Friday, YHS Wind Ensemble students had the opportunity to spend time with Grammy Award winning Recording Engineer Chris Sclafani (YHS Class of ’06, WE President). Mr. Sclafani told his inspiring story of starting at the bottom of the industry, dealing with challenges, his rise to success, and the awesome experience of working with Ed Sheerin to create his Divide album. All along the way his message centered around the principles of hard work and being good to everyone.  It was fascinating to hear about the industry from someone who has succeeded at the highest level. So very proud!
