GUIDED PRACTICE / JAZZ BAND SECTIONALS

Do you need help practicing your lesson HW assignment? Guided practice sessions are offered weekly and hosted by our junior and senior band members (thank you!). Students who lead or attend a session receive 1 point of extra credit. Sessions are held period 9, unless noted otherwise. I am also always available for help by appointment.

YHS BAND HALLOWEEN COSTUME CONTEST

Such a fun tradition! Our 21st annual costume contest will take place in class on Thursday, October 31st.  Winners in each class will receive half of Ms. Kluga’s citrus order.  (Extra points if your costume is home-made, or in any way musical.)  Looking forward to celebrating this fun day with you!

PLEASE SAVE THESE CITRUS DATES!

1.     Monday, November 4th is the on-line order deadline for truck delivery to YHS

2.     Sunday, December 15th is the on-line order deadline for USPS delivery to your home/customers’ homes

**Your orders MUST be entered on-line by the above dates. The grove will not accept late orders.**

3.     Friday, December 13th is FRUIT DELIVERY DAY

Ship to organization pre-orders will be delivered to YHS via truck on Friday, December 13th.  Students are responsible for picking up their entire order and delivering to their customers. Pick-up hours are 2:30 – 6:30pm at YHS.  Parent and student volunteers will be needed all day (7am-7pm) to help unload and sort our orders. Please save the date!  

WINTER CONCERT REMINDERS

§  Our YHS Band Winter Concert will take place Tuesday, December 10th at 7pm in the YHS auditorium. Students will be asked to arrive by 6:30pm (Jazz Band at 5:45pm) for sound check.

§  Students are asked to wear “Concert Black,” which is all black professional, dressy attire.

o   Ladies: Black dressy shirt. No sleeveless shirts or spaghetti straps. Appropriate necklines, please. Black dressy pants or skirt (below the knee when you sit down) and black dress shoes.

o   Gentlemen: Black dressy button-down long-sleeved shirt with a collar. Black dress pants. Black dress shoes. Black socks.

Students in the Wind Ensemble will participate in an overnight festival trip Friday 4/25 through Sunday 4/27

CONCERT BAND FESTIVAL TRIP – SAVE THE DATE!

Students in the Concert Band will participate in a day festival trip on Saturday 5/17. More info TBA.
