SWING DANCE CONCERT PLANNING COMMITTEE THIS THURSDAY

Parent volunteers are needed to help us plan this event. Roles include: securing raffle prizes, creating raffle baskets, planning logistics, and working the raffle table, admissions table, and buffet table the evening of the event. Our next committee meeting is Thursday 1/12 from 6-7pm at YHS. Please let Ms. Kluga know if you would be able to help – we would love to have you join our team!

SWING DANCE CONCERT

Our Swing Dance Concert is Saturday, February 11th from 7:00-10:30pm in the YHS GYM.  Flyer attached. All YHS Band students are required to attend. This event is a fun evening of music, dancing, light snacks, and a raffle. Swing Era attire is encouraged. Open to the community!

Now in its 14th year, the Swing Dance Concert is an eagerly anticipated, well-attended and fun evening for our entire Yorktown community (each year we have many senior citizens and community members attend and enjoy the evening with us!).

RAFFLE ITEMS & BASKETS NEEDED

As part of our Swing Dance, we hold a really amazing raffle.  Each year we ask families and local businesses for prize donations, which are then organized into themed baskets.  Here is how you can help:

  1. Consider donating a themed basket from your family (ex. sports, pets, movies, board games, gardening, etc)
  1. Consider donating items we could use to make a basket:
    1. Gift cards to local businesses
    2. Items you have set aside to re-gift
  1. Consider asking a local business contact to support our event. A letter is attached (on YHS Band letterhead) outlining the donation process.
  1. Our raffle committee is also looking for basket wrapping supplies, like:
    1. Baskets
    2. Shrink wrap bags (L/XL, can be found at Michael’s, Dollar Store at JV Mall)
    3. Bows and curling ribbon
    4. Crinkle cut paper shred filler
