Again this year, the YHS Band program is sponsoring a needy child for the holidays. Her name is Roneshia and she is in first grade. Using part of the funds we have raised through our tag sale and citrus sale, the Band Officers will purchase items from her list to Santa. If you are interested in donating additional items, please contact me. Roneshia wears a size 2 youth shoe, and size 7-8 shirt/pants. We are interested in all clothing items (pj’s, outfits, socks, and shoes), and a few toys/treats. All items are needed by Monday 12/5.

A reminder that our Winter Band concert will take place on Tuesday 12/13 at 7:00pm in the YHS Auditorium. Students will be asked to arrive by 6:30 to warm up. Jazz Band will be asked to arrive by 5:45 for our soundcheck.
To celebrate our student’s performance, we will host a reception in the cafeteria. Below is the SignUp Genius. Thank you for helping us celebrate our students – your donations of time and reception items are so appreciated! (And, thank you to Mrs. Aoukar and Mrs. Gambetta for creating the signup!)
A reminder of our concert dress requirements as outlined in the Band Handbook. We call it “Concert Black.” Thanksgiving break is a great time to hit the sales for items your student may need!
Ladies:
· Black dress pants or long black skirt. Ladies, long means that your skirt falls below the knee. (no black jeans/jeggings/tights/yoga pants)
· Black Blouse with longish sleeves. No sleeveless shirts, spaghetti straps, or crop tops. Please make sure the neckline is appropriate.
· Black Dress Shoes
Gentlemen:
· Black Dress Pants (no black jeans/track pants/sweat pants)
· Black, Button-Down, Long Sleeved Shirt
· Black Socks and Black Dress Shoes

Such a fun YHS Band tradition! The winner from each class received part of Ms. Kluga’s citrus order.
It is Ms. Kluga’s pleasure to announce our participation in the 2023 Rhythms International Music Festivals! We are thrilled to be able to bring back these musical opportunities for our students!
Wind Ensemble will participate in the Washington DC festival the weekend of Friday 4/14 through Sunday 4/16.
Concert Band will participate in the Hershey Park festival on Saturday 5/20.
Students were sent home with preliminary paperwork last week, which included our tentative itinerary, permission slip, and payment info.

STUDENT PAPERWORK DUE IN CLASS 11/9
Ms. Kluga is asking students to bring their completed citrus paperwork to class on Wednesday 11/9. This includes:
- Teacher/staff sales sheet
- Regular customer sales sheet
- Completed the teacher/staff Google form
We will go over their completed on-line Google form, paperwork, and on-line summaries together to make sure orders are correct.

Our YHS Band Officers have designed a warm and stylish quarter zip. Interested students should fill out this interest form.
Rehearsals are 7:00-8:30 in the YHS Band Room/Auditorium. Jazz Band students are asked to arrive by 6:50 so we can be warmed up and tuned to start promptly at 7:00. Music, recordings, and this week’s HW are all available on Dashboard.
Congratulations to our YHS Band and Orchestra students who represented Yorktown as members of Area All-State this weekend; honor ensembles made up of the best student musicians in the county.
Bravo to William Lemus-Silva (trombone), Samson Newberger (trombone), George Whalen (trumpet), and Julia Whalen (flute) on a beautiful performance with the Area All State Symphonic Band! So proud of you!

Part fundraiser, part social event, part alumni reunion, our annual Tag Sale is always so much fun to be a part of. With your help, we raised $3,400!
