BAND PARENT HELPERS 2021-2022

If you are interested in becoming a member of our core group of band parent helpers, please e-mail Ms. Kluga.  We will be meeting in August to start planning next year’s events (finger’s crossed).  A big THANK YOU to all the awesome parents who helped make this year a success!

FIRST NIGHTERS

Sincere thanks to this wonderful parent organization for all you have done to support the Performing Arts for our students!!  And especially for sponsoring and tweeting the beautiful Senior Spotlight portraits, using the talents of local photographer Bob Castner (thank you, Bob!).

If you are interested in volunteering with the First Nighters, please let Ms. Kluga know and she will forward them your information.

FORMAL PHOTOS

We were so lucky to have a professional photographer on hand to capture moments from our concert. Formal photos of each ensemble, and candid photos of individual performers, will be available.  More info to follow. (Ms. Kluga’s low-quality iPhone versions are attached)

INSTRUMENT RETURNS

Please return all YHS-owned instruments ASAP. Also, please return any lyres, mutes, or other items you have borrowed this year.

If your student has rented from ARDSLEY or MUSIC & ARTS, they are also due in the band room.  Please clean out your case, make sure all accessories are present (mouthpiece, ligature, etc.)

If you would like to continue your rental program over the summer, please contact your rental company.

SUMMER RENTALS & LESSONS

Keep practicing over the summer! If you are interested in renting an instrument from YHS, please see Ms. Kluga (fee is $25, check made payable to Yorktown Central School District).  Instruments will be ready for pick up by the end of exams.  If you are interested in exploring private lessons, she would be happy to provide you with more information.

At 3:00pm on Memorial Day (Monday 5/31), trumpet players and instrumentalists of all types are invited to step outside their homes and perform Taps for their neighborhood. More details and a link to the music can be found below. If you participate, Ms. Kluga would love to see a photo of you or hear your video. She plans to play Taps from her driveway. Her sister, who is a trumpet player in the Air Force, will be playing Taps from where she is stationed in Germany.
