Do you need help practicing your lesson HW assignment? Guided practice sessions are offered weekly and hosted by our junior and senior band members (thank you!). Students who lead or attend a session receive 1 point of extra credit. Sessions are held period 9, unless noted otherwise. I am also always available for help by appointment.

Please join me before school (from 7:10…or whenever you get off the bus… until the first bell) to practice improvising. Help yourself develop your skills and a plan for success!

Rehearsals are 7:00-8:30 in the YHS Band Room. Jazz Band students are asked to arrive by 6:50 so we can be warmed up and tuned to start promptly at 7:00.  Music, recordings, and this week’s HW are all posted on Dashboard.

Such a fun tradition! Our 21^st annual costume contest will take place in class on Thursday, October 31^st.  Winners in each class will receive half of Ms. Kluga’s citrus order.  (Extra points if your costume is home-made, or in any way musical.)  Looking forward to celebrating this fun day with you!

1.     Monday, November 4^th is the on-line order deadline for truck delivery to YHS

2.     Sunday, December 15^th is the on-line order deadline for USPS delivery to your home/customers’ homes

**Your orders MUST be entered on-line by the above dates. The grove will not accept late orders.**

3.     Friday, December 13^th is FRUIT DELIVERY DAY

Ship to organization pre-orders will be delivered to YHS via truck on Friday, December 13th.  Students are responsible for picking up their entire order and delivering to their customers. Pick-up hours are 2:30 – 6:30pm at YHS.  Parent and student volunteers will be needed all day (7am-7pm) to help unload and sort our orders. Please save the date!  

§  Our YHS Band Winter Concert will take place Tuesday, December 10^th at 7pm in the YHS auditorium. Students will be asked to arrive by 6:30pm (Jazz Band at 5:45pm) for sound check.

§  Students are asked to wear “Concert Black,” which is all black professional, dressy attire.

o   Ladies: Black dressy shirt. No sleeveless shirts or spaghetti straps. Appropriate necklines, please. Black dressy pants or skirt (below the knee when you sit down) and black dress shoes.

o   Gentlemen: Black dressy button-down long-sleeved shirt with a collar. Black dress pants. Black dress shoes. Black socks.

WIND ENSEMBLE FESTIVAL TRIP

Students in the Wind Ensemble will participate in an overnight festival trip Friday 4/25 through Sunday 4/27

CONCERT BAND FESTIVAL TRIP – SAVE THE DATE!

Students in the Concert Band will participate in a day festival trip on Saturday 5/17. More info TBA.

Donations will be accepted Friday 10/18 from 2:30-7pm.  Our sale is Saturday 10/19 from 9am-2pm.
