Each year our Band Officers design an optional piece of YHS Band apparel. This year, they are excited to offer a charcoal gray quarter-zip, featuring our YHS Band logo on the left chest, and your student’s last name on the right chest. An order form and more information are attached. Orders are due either to Ms. Kluga at YHS, or dropped off at Sports Barn by this Friday 12/18.
Are you running out of reeds, valve oil, or cork/slide grease? This is the time of year when band students typically need to replenish these necessary supplies. It is also a time to think about possibly purchasing a new instrument or taking private lessons. If you have questions, Ms. Kluga is happy to help!
The students and Ms. Kluga are preparing our virtual concert recordings for you to enjoy. The goal is to have our projects ready to present before the holiday break. More information TBA.
As we continue to work with the Upbeat app to create our virtual recordings, it has become very clear that having a printed copy of the music is a key to success. Please have your student print out a copy of Sleigh Ride.
Our rehearsal this week will be Thursday 12/10 from 2-3pm via Zoom and Upbeat.
Expectations:
1. Read Ms. Kluga’s e-mail from 12/3 and follow the instructions.
2. Print out your music.
3. Practice with the A-ccompany app every day. Run each song.
4. Attend your sectional this week. Swaroop, James, Michael and Colin, will send the zoom links.
a. Monday 12/7, p.9: Tenor Sax, Alto Sax
b. Tuesday 12/8, p.9: Trombones and Krishna, Trumpets
5. We will record at Thursday’s rehearsal. Wear a button down long-sleeved black dress shirt and the craziest tie you can find. (If more than your torso is in the frame, then add black dress pants and black socks/shoes).

For their video assessment, students are required to wear Concert Black. For your video, you will need to be dressed in concert black from the waist up. (Below Ms. Kluga listed all the items required, in hopes that at some point this year we will be performing in person!) Let her know if you have any questions.
Ladies: Solid black dressy shirt. No sleeveless shirts or spaghetti straps. Appropriate necklines, please. Black dressy pants or skirt (below the knee when you sit down) and black dress shoes.
Gentlemen: Solidblack dressy button-down long-sleeved shirt with a collar. Black dress pants. Black dress shoes. Black socks.
There is no rehearsal this Thursday due to Thanksgiving. Make time over this week to practice Critical Mass and Africa using the A-ccompany app. Keep building your skills and building up your confidence!
