Many thanks to all of the Jazz Band students for a great final performance at the Relay for Life event! What a fantastic way to share your musical talents with our community, support an important cause, and celebrate the end of another great year!! A HUGE THANK YOU to all the parent volunteers who helped make this happen!
Mark your calendars! The 16th Annual YHS Band Ice Cream Social will take place Thursday, August 24th from 6-8pm at YHS. (FYI: Section Leaders and Officers, you will need to report at 4:30pm).
Officers and Section Leaders, mark your calendars! We will meet on Tuesday, September 5th 2017 (the freshmen-only first day of school). First, we will organize our traditional Freshmen welcome breakfast during period 1 (7:00-8:30). Then, from 8:30-11:00, we will participate in a workshop to learn the skills needed to lead a successful sectional.
If you want band in your schedule for next year, please double check with your guidance counselor to avoid possible scheduling conflicts.

FORM IS NEEDED
New this year, the Relay organizers are requesting that all student participants fill out the form attached to the email. Please return it to Ms. Kluga in class this week.
HELP IS NEEDED! We need assistance bringing 30 chairs, stands, and equipment from YHS to Relay. If you have a large car and are able to help, please let me know. We will load equipment on Friday 6/9 after school, and will need all equipment returned either after the performance, or on Monday morning.
If your student has a YHS owned instrument, and has not yet returned it, please bring it into school this week. Also, any flip-folders, lyres, mouthpieces, books, or any other borrowed supplies need to be returned. Thanks!
If your student has rented from ARDSLEY or MUSIC & ARTS, they are also due in the band room. Please clean out your case, make sure all mouthpieces, ligatures, and mouthpiece covers are present. If you would like to continue your rental program over the summer, please contact your rental company.
Offering lessons, rentals and repairs, supplies, print music and instruments for purchase. A $10 coupon, and brochures with more info are available in the band room.
Also, all YHS Band students are offered one free private lesson at their studios. Call the store to schedule. And, a new rental option is now being offered as well – students can rent an intermediate instrument (instead of a beginning model), with the monthly rental fees going towards the purchase of the instrument.
