Parent Help Needed!

The YHS Bands need the support of parents like you!

Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year with the YHS Band Family! The YHS Bands include: Concert Band, Wind Ensemble, Jazz Band, Pep Band, Marching Band and Small Ensembles. More than 100 students are a part of one or more of these groups! 

As with all organizations, it is the support of many people that is essential to the program. The following YHS Band Events are not possible without the donation of items and/or time from parent volunteers: 

  • Ice Cream Social (8/22)
  • Homecoming BBQ (9/27)
  • Music Boosters Tag Sale (10/18 – donation drop off, 10/19 Tag Sale)
  • Winter Band Concert Reception (12/10)
  • Citrus Sale Order Distribution (12/16)
  • Swing Dance (2/8)
  • Bandapalooza VII (3/2)
  • Spring Concert Reception (5/13)
  • Memorial Day Parade and Annual Band BBQ (5/25)

How can you help? Look for the emails! As each event approaches, emails will be sent with information and sign up slots for necessary items and types of volunteer help. No matter what you are able to offer- ALL HELP IS WELCOME!! 

Band Aids:

All Band Parents who help out at Band events are our “Band Aids” (Ha Ha!) Some Band Aids volunteer 30 min, others volunteer hours. Some help at one event, others help at many. Without Band Aids, Bands events would not be as successful or as fun!

Band Aid Core Helpers (BACHs):

A smaller group of Band Parents work behind the scenes to organize or help organize events are our “BACH Parents” or “BACHs”. Some BACHs plan or help plan one event, others plan or help plan many. Without BACHs, many Band events would not be possible!
